Group Vivendi Africa (GVA), a new player in the telecommunications market in Africa, is launching its first CanalBox high speed broadband internet offer, in a commercial partnership with the Canal + group. GVA invests in its own network and ensures its construction and operation.

Broadband for the general public and businesses will revolutionize Internet access in Africa. Already available in Libreville, the CanalBox FTTH network (Fiber to the home) will soon be rolled out in several other African countries. GVA benefits from the strong expertise of the CANAL + group in Africa, relying on the power of the brand, a very important commercial network of boutiques and partners already distributing the products of the CANAL + group and a quality of premium service.

Marco de Assis, CEO of GVA, says: “Our teams are building the best telecommunications network for Gabonese because we are convinced that broadband internet access is a key factor for economic and social development. I am very proud to be the first to launch a real FTTH network in Gabon.”

For David Mignot, General Manager of Canal + Afrique, “this partnership with GVA is a great opportunity for Canal + to offer a full range of products and services that now include very high-speed broadband internet offerings with Canalbox”.

This project is a new embodiment of synergies within the Vivendi Group and reinforces the Group’s strong ambitions in Africa.
