Colombia’s new Canal 1 continues to grow in audience. More than 12 million people have tuned in to the channel since its launch on August 14, said the network in a press release.
On Thursday, September 28, Canal 1 had its best share since its launch, reaching a 6.27% total among national audiences, which represented a more than double increase over the historic results of the channel. Among the shows that boosted the growth are the Turkish drama “Tormenta de Pasiones”, the magazine “Acá entre nos” and the reality “Guerreros”.
In the digital area, the Canal 1 reached 2 million unique users, generating more than 5 million page views and reaching 800,000 users.
Canal 1 operates over the RTVC public network. In 2016, the channel was awarded to Plural Comunicaciones, a consortium made up of four partners: RTI, news producers CM & and NTC and the US media group Hemisphere Media.
