Brazilian broadcaster TV Anhanguera, TV Globo network affiliate in Goiás and Tocantins, will not be finally sold. Jaime Camara Group, owner of the stations, didn’t want to continue with the sale process that had been going on for more than 10 months, local media reported. The deal was almost closed and the transfer was going to take place on next January 1st.
The buyer was going to be Zahran Group, owner of the TV stations Centro América in Mato Grosso and TV Morena in Mato Grosso do Sul, both Globo affiliates. There is still no official communication and no explanation of the decision.
According to Na Telinha portal, Jaime Camara Group will initiate a series of investments in the station to improve the business. Globo had also been interested in a definition in relation to the sale, since audience numbers were bad (Goiás recorded the lowest numbers of Globo in Brazil) and needed the management to focus on working to raise the rating.
