Zimbabwe’s pay-tv channel Blue Ocean Strategy TV (BOStv), which launched on the My TV Africa platform in October 2013, has embarked on a drive to build a strong local content base and promote local talent.
“BOStv is geared to bringing you quality television content including documentaries and live talkshows in business, sports, arts and culture, tourism and hospitality, education and children’s programmes,” said Nyasha Muzavazi, executive chairman of BOStv. “We believe our arts have the same quality as international acts, hence the need to give our local artistes the opportunity on our channel to show off their talent.”
The channels is currently expanding its local content and expects to launch new programmes from different genres this year. The channel can be accessed via Wiztech and Philibao satellite decoders and aims to compete with DStv, ZBC and other subscription-based networks in Zimbabwe.
