Bolivia’s AXS launches DTH service

Bolivian telecoms operator AXS has entered the pay TV market with the launch of its satellite TV service on November 5. According to the company, it will initially be offered in the cities of La Paz, El Alto, Cochabamba and Santa Cruz but it could be extended to the rest of the country.
The official launch of the service was made last week. The company’s Manager, Martín Arancibia said that the subscribers of any of the TV plans can also add the Internet service. Two new AXS branches were also presented at the event, one in Cochabamba and the other one in Santa Cruz.
The operator is offering four TV plans. The plan called One Level has 112 channels (more than 60 in HD) for USD 36.05 monthly. The Orange Level and the Black Level plans include 120 channels (more than 65 in HD) and Fox and HBO packages for USD 44.74 per month. The Top Level plan with 128 channels (more than 70 in HD) includes the two premium packages for USD 51.98.
