BigFIix the SVOD platform owned the Reliance offers revamped its services with nine different languages to conquer the Indian market as well as the international one, with target such as US, Canada, UK or Middle East.
With an attractive monthly rate of US $ 1.99, few services are able to align themselves on this kind of cheap offer. The content will be composed of more than 2000 HD movies with big names such as Disney, Viacom or Rajshri Productions.
Reliance Entertainment, digital CEO, Amit Khanduja declared: “Globally, the demand for video content has risen steeply, and the digital platform is witnessing a wider audience everywhere, including India. With Bigflix we are not only looking into OTT platform but also the technology which is playing an important aspect. When we say technology, it’s not just the backend. For us technology is what we can offer to you as a consumer, the consumer experience and ability to find the content when its needed on any device, the content which the user can start off on tablet and finishing off on TV is very unique which we want to provide. We want to offer high-quality video content across devices.”
The Platform currently has partnered with hotel channels and Dish Network in the U.S and Canada in order to export their content outside Indian borders. reliance Entertainment COO Shibasish Sarkar commented on this situation: “We are planning to offer original content down the line, but right now we are not in a hurry to put everything in a basket and ask audience to select. There are some strategic plans which we will are planning to announce in the six weeks times. Right now we have offered movies curated according to the geographies, the next level of thought process will be curating short film, which will be dependent on what genre works for which market, and then down the line we will decide whether to go for long format.”
