BBC Kenya announced a US$ 10 million investment into production studios. The development that will result from this investment will go directly to the Kenyans with the creation of 200 jobs. The fund will also be used to provide journalist, and technicians internship.
Solomon Mugera BBC editor told President Kenyatta that the BBC will be working with local and independent producers to create a regional content in various genre as well numerous languages. The Amharic, Afaan Oromo and Tigrinya ones will be produced in Nairobi for audiences in Ethiopia and Eritrea, the British company is already producing Kiswahili and Somali programmes
