Free to Air channel Bamba Sport has announced a Sh36.7 million partnerships with Kenyan Premier League (KPL). Under the agreement, KPL matches will be aired live on Bamba Sport, Kiss TV, and Radio Jambo as from next week.
The acquisition of the top tier league adds two local football products on Bamba Sport after the National Super League. Bamba will broadcast two league matches live every weekend as from next week according to the new deal. The six-month contract, worth Sh36.7 will be for production. “We are glad that Bamba Sport has decided to stream live Premier League matches for free,” said outgoing KPL chairman, Ambrose Rachier during the launch.
Radio Africa CEO Patrick Quarcoo said, “We take yet another step to grow Kenyan sport. KPL represents the cream of Kenyan soccer and for the first time, we are making it free to Kenyans. We are even hoping to bring it to your mobile phones with support of our partners.”
Bamba Sport replaces SuperSport, who walked out of Kenyan football last April, following a breach of contract by the league managers. Bamba Tv is available throughout Kenya in leading supermarkets and distributors countrywide and can be viewed as free-to air on Bamba decorders, GOtv and StarTimes decoders as well.
