AT&T to launch USD 15 TV service in the US

US telecommunications company AT&T plans to launch a “skinny bundle”, which will not include sports, for a USD 15 monthly subscription, according to The Wall Street Journal. The new offer, called AT&T Watch, was announced Thursday by the company’s Chief Executive Randall Stephenson.
The executive did not disclose which channels it would offer or when it will be available. Stephenson said the service should be launched in a few weeks. This way, it will have one of the lowest prices of the pay TV OTT market. AT&T’s CEO said the company´s wireless subscribers on unlimited data plans would get the service free.
This is not the first time that AT&T is committed to low-cost online products to offset the loss of traditional pay TV subscribers. In 2016, the company launched DirecTV Now, its linear OTT service with a USD 35 subscription, which in its first year of operation reached one million subscribers.
