Argentina green lights operation of Hispasat’s additional satellite

The Ministry of Communications of Argentina issued a new resolution in the Official Gazette allowing Hispasat to provide satellite services across the country through the Hispasat 1D satellite (recently renamed Hispasat 30W-4), equipped with Ku band transmitters.

The satellite is located at 30° West orbital window. It adds 28 Ku-band transponders to the HISPASAT satellite system, 6 of them with American and transatlantic connectivity. Before this permission, Hispasat was already delivering services in Argentina through Hispasat 1C (Hispasat 84W-1).

Last year, the Argentine government had already authorized other operations of international companies such as SES and Satélites Mexicanos (Satmex), owned by the Eutelsat Group.
