AREWA24, the lifestyle and entertainment channel in Hausa language, has revealed its new sports programming division. Viewers will be served with more original production of sports series with a slew of new titles for its licensed and international programming which are to be dubbed in Hausa language.
Further to the new content line-up, AREWA24 is bringing three worldwide series that has recently been acquired, through A24 Sports in Northern Nigeria. Available to more than 80 milllion Hausa speakers in Nigeria and other parts of Western Africa, AREWA24 is accessible through Eutelsat’s satellite free-to-air broadcast and on MultiChoice’s pay-TV platform alongside GOtv.
Commenting about the new development, Jacob Arback, the president of AREWA24, said: “A24 Sports will offer a diverse array of new sports programming to complement its two current and popular sports shows, Take Leda and Football Review. The new slate of original programming will focus on Northern Nigerian teams, athletes and coaches and will bring our viewers behind the scenes with their favourite teams and athletes”.
He further added that: “While football and basketball will lead the way, A24 Sports will cover other popular sports and their star athletes as well as topics including athletic lifestyle, training and fitness, nutrition and building character in our youth – boys and girls – through participation in sports”.
