Argentine TV broadcaster América TV has signed an agreement with Google to implement a solution that will allow it to insert digital ads on its website, which offers streaming of the linear programming.
During the conference NexTV Series South America, Grupo América’s digital commercial manager, Jonatan Fasano, shared some details about the new project, which seeks to “monetize the digital signal, independently from the free to air TV channel.”
Most of América programming consist of live TV show and as Fasano said that “users of the live streaming remain in session for approximately one hour.”
The Google solution, which will be launch soon, will allow the channel to create digital video ads specific for online platform and different from what users watch on TV. “The encoder will notify about the beginning of the commercial break on free-to-air TV and what Google technology does is to create a digital break with the ads that we have already loaded on the server.”
Fasano stated that this initiative “will improve the users’ experience” since they will be able to watch ads with specific features of the online world. “This proves that not always the commercial area in the digital platform has to be detrimental to the user experience”, the executive concluded.
