Amazon signs content deal with Lionsgate for Latin America

Amazon and Lionsgate have signed an exclusive multiyear agreement under which Lionsgate will deliver a diverse line-up of Hollywood blockbusters to Amazon Prime Video customers across Latin America, following their local theatrical release in the region, the companies announced this week.
The deal includes Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment label films. Amazon Prime Video will become the exclusive long-term streaming home in Latin America for Lionsgate’s portfolio of tentpole films and branded properties, beginning with: “John Wick: Chapter 2”, “Saban’s Power Rangers”, “The Shack” and “Jigsaw”.
In addition, Prime Video will continue to add new Lionsgate releases, including “Wonder” (starring Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson), “The Spy Who Dumped Me” (starring Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon) and “Robin Hood” (teaming Jamie Foxx and Taron Egerton), among others.
All titles included in the deal will be available in HD, and they can also be temporarily downloaded to watch them offline on compatible mobile devices. “Amazon is committed to delivering great movies to our Prime Video members across Latin America. We know our audiences are going to love the new and exciting Lionsgate releases exclusively joining our service,” commented Jason Ropell, Vice President of Worldwide Moviess at Amazon Prime Video.
