ALT Balaji, the OTT service of Balaji Telefilms will finally go live this month, on the 21. On April 15, the commercial launch will be done.
Sameer Nair, the CEO of Balaji Telefilms Ltd Group, stated: “It’s going tech live on 21 February. We are testing the technology for the first month. Everything that can go wrong will go wrong. We will be testing whether it plays out well”.
Once the testing phase will be completed, the commercial launch will take place in April and users will be charged at 60 INR (0.015 USD).
Planning to develop 300 hours of original content in a year, ALT will begin by offering 60-80 episodes of content. And according to Nair, a series of 12-15 episodes will be created and will last for 15-22 minutes. Content will be in English and Hindi, and ALT Balaji is planning to expand its content in other regional languages.
A collection of 32 different interfaces will be created for encompassing over mobiles, laptops, computers, tablets, smartphones, game stations, or use an HDMI cable for mirroring of the high-resolution content on internet-ready TV sets. Content will be accessible across nine different speed profiles.
