ALT Balaji, the over-the-top (OTT) platform of Balaji Telefilms, has collaborated with ACT Fibernet, the Internet Service Provider (ISP) based in India. The OTT platform will thus make use of the internet service provider for promotion and distribution of its subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service.
ACT Fibernet’s users will be able to have access through subscription to ALT Balaji SVOD as part of their broadband package and pay for the service. This can be done though an integrated bill monthly. To be launched soon, ALT Balaji can be selected as a value-added service on the homepage of ACT Fibernet.
A single subscription will allow the customer to stream exclusive content over five screens which include television, web and mobile. An integration with Chromecast will also be provided by the service.
Nachiket Pantvaidya, CEO of ALT Balaji, commented about the agreement: “Globally, entertainment video content multiplies broadband usage. ALT Balaji will exclusively offer more than 250 hours of premium and original digital content in the first year itself.
“We are confident that our unique and exclusive shows will increase broadband usage for ACT Fibernet. At the same time, it will allow users to avail our rich content with ease as part of their monthly broadband pack. The alliance is symbiotic and allows both companies to derive value from their inherent strengths”.
On the other hand, Bala Malladi, CEO of ACT Fibernet, said: “ACT Fibernet takes pride in delighting users with not only fast and reliable internet service, but also with various value-added services. We have witnessed an increased consumption and demand from our users for online video content over the last year. We are pleased to partner ALT Balaji. Our users will now have further access to exclusive original content”.
