In order to breakeven, ALT Balaji telefilms a cloud-based VOD service needs to reach 4 million subscribers and will also invest US$6.2 millions in its platform. The investment will be used to get partnership with partners such as Micromax a mobile brand or ACT fibernet a broadband provider.
The creation of original shows is also a part of the brand strategy, that will include to endorse India superstars such as Nagesh Kukunoor producer and director winner of the National Film Award and a Filmfare Award.
The partnership with Micromax will result the automatic installation of the Balaji app on every new phone of the brand. The investment made by the Indian firm will also cover the integration of OTT expert like Diagnal as well as xstream the online video platform.
