Al Jazeera America (AJAM) has officially been launched on one of America’s biggest cable operators, Time Warner Cable (TWC). The newly launched 24-hour news channel will reach almost 55 million homes across America in both SD and HD formats.
“We are very pleased that TWC has agreed to include us in their line-up. As always we remain committed to providing in-depth, unbiased journalism and we’re excited to work with TWC to make our channel available to their customers,” said Ehab Al Shihabi, Al Jazeera America’s interim CEO.
The Qatar-owned broadcaster attempts to build an audience in the two essential markets of New York and Los Angeles. Al Jazeera America will join BBC America, CNN, FOX News and others in TWC’s news bouquet.
