Turner Latin America announced it will buy and adapt in Mexico the serie “La chica que limpia”, by the Argentine production company Jaque Content, distributed by RMVistar and Glowstar Media.
In addition, Turner Latin America and Mediapro announced the first project within a five-year global development and co-production agreement for multiplatform content for Latin America: an eight episodes of 45 minutes each serie, entitled Las Bravas F.C.
At the same time, Sony Pictures Television announced a content development agreement with Colombian scriptwriter Fernando Gaitán, author of series like ‘Betty, la fea’, who had previously worked with RCN in Colombia before.
It should also be noted that Televisa and Endemol Shine strengthened their alliance and came to terms by signing a new agreement for the joint development and production of programs, series and original formats of Endemol Shine Group. These are focused on Mexican, US Hispanic and the rest of the world’s market, as announced by Patricio Wills, president of Televisa Estudios, and Laurens Drillich, president of Endemol Shine Latino. The agreement establishes that the Televisa content development team will work in coordination with Endemol Shine Boomdog, a new studio in Mexico City, to develop and co-produce original series.
Televisa also signed an agreement with Mediapro US to develop and co-produce a minimum of three original series for three years. Each project production will be carried out by Televisa in Mexico, and Mediapro will be responsible for the creative direction, which will guarantee the creation of global products.
Turner Latin America, Plataforma and Comarex signed a production and broactasting agreement for the bioseries of the legendary Mexican band Bronco, inspired by the book ¨Cicatrices de un Corazón, Bronco¨, written by band leader José Guadalupe Esparza. The bioserie will last 13 episodes of one hour each, which will be broadcast by TNT, a Turner Latin America brand that is in the top 10 of the most watched TV networks in the region.
To deals detailed can be added the one held by Viacom International Studios (VIS) for the realization of the series ’12 seconds’, together with Imágen (Mexico) and Mega (Chile). It is a 60 episodes superserie, which will begin filming in Mexico City, scheduled for April.
Viacom International Studios (VIS) and Mega Media, the largest telecommunications holding company in Chile, announced a deal to co-produce ‘Resistiré’, a new survival reality show. Production, which means the first alliance between both companies, will last 95 episodes and will be recorded entirely in Chile. Its debut is estimated for March, and will be broadcasted by Mega for Chile and by MTV for the rest of Latin America.
Finally, Brazilian Record network adds ‘Top Chef’ to its catalog. NBC Universal popular cooking format in the US, where it is going through its sixteenth season, will increase the number of international remakes of the program to 24.
