Abu Dhabi Media will launch new channels – a kids genre channel and a subscription-based channel, Abu Dhabi Drama+ which will be dedicated to Arabic drama series. As part of its new integrated strategy, it will also re-brand its television networks, Al Emarat and Abu Dhabi, to align with UAE Vision 2021 and Abu Dhabi Vision 2030.
The new strategy will focus on showcasing the nation’s history and identity and reinforce its long-standing position by providing content developed by both local and international talent.
It will add new programmes over 320 hours of programming including seven locally and regionally-produced series, two animated cartoons, 16 in-house productions, six external productions and eight acquired series. Abu Dhabi TV Network has also recruited 10 presenters.
“We unveil a new integrated strategy for our television network, as well as the launch of new channels, programmes and initiatives that support the evolution of the media industry in the UAE,” said Mohamed Ebraheem Al Mahmood, Chairman and Managing Director of Abu Dhabi Media.
