ABS-CBN Corp announced it would soon air more of the top-rating shows in Africa under an agreement with StarTimes.  The partnership with StarTimes followed the African viewers’ demand for more Filipino dramas.

Local shows, including family drama ‘A Love to Last’, and revenge drama series ‘Wildflower’ will soon be aired on the pay-TV channel. StarTimes is currently airing the Julia Montes-starrer ‘Doble Kara.’ It previously showed Philippine-hits ‘On the Wings of Love’ and ‘Dolce Amore’.

“Filipino stories are full of youthful romance, pure love, and also dramatic plots. They show how the young Asian people struggle with lives and how to love,” said StarTimes chairman Pang Xinxing.

ABS-CBN wishes to establish a wider presence in the region, which is one of its “constant and strongest territories,” said ABS-CBN OIC-head for Integrated Acquisitions and International Sales and Distribution Maria Cecilia Imperial.
