ABP Asmita, the free-to-air Gujarati news channel from ABP News Network will now be distributed on direct-to-home (DTH) platforms. Already available on multi-system operators (MSOs) like GTPL Hathway (which is the dominant MSO in the state), the news channel will now be available on Tata Sky and Videocon d2h.
An official at ABP News Network commented about the decision: “We are launching on DTH platforms Tata Sky and Videocon d2h. The two platforms have the maximum share in Gujarat. We are in talks with other DTH platforms also”.
Officially launched earlier in February this year, ABP Asmita is the fourth channel from ABP News Networks and the other channels include ABP News (Hindi), ABP Majha (Marathi) and ABP Jalsha (Bengali).
The news channel, to recall was the former Star news which has been rebranded as ABP News in 2012. The channel was launched in the year 2004 with the promise off keeping each individual ahead and informed.
