Reliance JIO the LTE mobile Network operator in India owned by Mukesh Ambani which has conquered a large part of the local market due to its aggressive pricing strategy is now looking to new endeavor and its destination is clear: Cable TV.
Reliance Jio has in 2015 acquired a Multi-system operator (MSO) Licence from the Ministry of Information (MIB) the question is will the late entry of the company into the Cable TV market play against the firm.
Due to recent legal issues between the Telecom Regulation Authority of India (TRAI) broadcaster such as Star India and Vijay about tariff. Reliance Jio is giving an edge with the TRAI new proposal.
Another indicator of the will to penetrate this market the company has decided to roll out a fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) Network.
Jio has done some trials in various location such as Dehli or Mumbai, the FTTH service will come with smart STB routers and power line communication devices in order to supply HDTV as well as a VOD service.
